For the very first time, XLarge and 24Kilates have joined forces with Diadora for a unique spin on the N.9000 silhouette, in celebration of XLarge’s 25th anniversary. Famous for its iconic Gorilla logo, XLarge takes inspiration from 24Kilates’ native city, Barcelona – or the same town that’s home to “Copito,” the world’s only known albino gorilla.
Crafted using a combination of premium materials to portray the different hues of white found on Copito, the Made-in-Italy N.9000 features off-white bases of perforated suede and nubuck. Touches of white kangaroo leather debossed with “XLarge” branding add definition to overlays and tongue, while a laser-etched 24 Kilates logo on the back heel comes complete with pony hair in a direct reference to Copito’s fur.
As a nod to XLarge’s 25th anniversary, subtle 3M reflective panels have been added to the shoe. Further enhancing the color palette is a soft shade of pink which appears on the mesh tongue as well as the sole and midsole. A special selection of apparel will also complement the collaborative footwear release and will be sold at all select retailers.
The limited edition XLarge x 24Kilates x Diadora “Copito” release will take place on December 17, at the XLarge Store in Harajuku, Tokyo; 24Kilates (Barcelona and Bangkok); in Madrid at Ecooo (C/ Escuadra 11), and at UBIQ’s new location in Washington, D.C.
