Microsoft Introduces the Surface Studio All-In-One PC

Microsoft has just gone berserk with the new addition to its Surface family. At the “Imagine What You’ll Do” event in New York City yesterday, the tech giant introduced the Surface Studio, an all-in-one desktop version of the classic tablet PC.

The Surface Studio boasts a 28-inch PixelSense display, which according to Panos Panay – the leader of Microsoft’s Devices Team, is the “world’s thinnest monitor ever built,” at 12.5mm. Panay went on to reveal that the display also outputs 13.5 million pixels, which is 63 percent more than a 4K television. Additionally, the Microsoft Surface Studio supports expanded color output, meaning it’ll be perfect for creatives, with its 3:2 aspect ratio and 192 pixels per inch.

The all-in-one PC comes with an Intel Core processor, a 2TB hybrid hard drive, an NVIDIA GPU, 32GB RAM, and a new haptic feedback device known as the Surface Dial. Thanks to a “linear mic array,” the Surface Studio will also be able to recognize its owner’s voice while they’re in the room. Today, the tech giant launched its first-ever laptop and it doubles as the thinnest Windows tablet ever made, measuring only 7.7mm thick. The new product sports a 13.5-inch PixelSense screen with 6 million pixels resulting in a 267 PPI that has been made as thin as possible with an optical bonded display. It also features a machined magnesium exterior, trackpad made of glass and a backlit keyboard via a “dynamic fulcrum” – basically a hinge that also allows the display to be detached and used as a tablet – in place of a laptop – along with the Surface Pen stylus. Inside are sixth-generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors and an Nvidia GeForce GPU with GDDR5 memory, as well as a duo of USB 3.0 ports and an SD card slot. The Surface Book will be available to pre-order from tomorrow, October 7 starting at $1,499 USD before launching October 26.

Microsoft Unwraps the Futuristic Surface Hub 2

Microsoft has just taken the wraps off its next-generation interactive whiteboard – the Surface Hub 2 – a major upgrade to the original 2016 Surface Hub.

Built around a massive 50.5-inch multi-touchscreen display with 4K resolution, the giant device is now capable of dynamic rotation, to further add versatility, and allow users to utilize the best orientation for their content that best suits them and the people they are collaborating with. The Surface Hub 2 is powered by Windows 10 and features an array of apps like Office and Skype to create a richer collaboration experience.

The Surface Hub 2 can scale and adapt to your space through tiling, whereby up to four screens can be mounted together in portrait or landscape view. This provides plenty of screen space for the apps and video conferencing needs. A dynamic collaboration feature will allow multiple users to walk up to the Surface Hub 2, and log into the device using the built-in fingerprint reader. Far-field microphones and 4K camera features will also make video calling a breeze. The Microsoft Surface Hub 2 is scheduled to arrive in 2019.
