FIFA has decided that the 2022 World Cup final, which is taking place in Qatar, is going to happen on the 18th of December. The tournament will be played throughout November to December with the climax of the tournament one week before Christmas. The FIFA World Cup which traditionally happens during the months of June and July is changing, due to the sweltering heat in the Middle-East during the months of June and July. The 2022 World Cup will also be shortened to 28 days instead of the usual 32 days. FIFA will rearrange the soccer calendar to take into consideration international matches that could be affected during that time. The final set for December 18 also coincidentally falls on Qatar’s national day.
