BMW Reveals the 2019 8 Series Coupe

BMW officially revealed its 2019 8 Series Coupe, yesterday at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France.

The new 8 Series, which is scheduled to go on sale this fall, will be offered in two versions. The first being the top-of-the-range M850i xDrive, which boasts a 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine that cranks out 523bhp with 554lb ft of torque available between 1800rpm and 4600rpm. It is capable of achieving 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 155mph.

The other model is the 840d xDrive, which is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel engine that produces 316bhp and 501lb ft of torque, capable of hitting 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds.

Both models feature Merino leather in the interior, customizable ambient lighting, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, LED headlights with BMW LaserLight technology and more. Pricing details haven’t been disclosed yet, but the vehicle is expected to hit the dealerships in November.
