Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum and Vans have teamed up to release a collaborative capsule collection. Many will agree to the fact that Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic oil paintings naturally match the canvas uppers of Vans’ classic skate sneakers, and this makes the collaboration not so far-fetched.
The collection houses a number of sneakers in the form of Old Skool, Slip-On, Authentic and Sk8-Hi silhouettes, all decked out in prints from series of Van Gogh’s colorful paintings, including Almond Blossoms, Skulls and Sunflowers. A number of clothing range has also being delivered to complement the sneaker designs. The clothing offering includes a satin bomber jacket, hoodies, sweatshirts, and t-shirts, along with caps, and a backpack, all emblazoned with the legendary artist’s artworks.
The exclusive Vincent Van Gogh x Vans Collection is scheduled to launch on Van Gogh Museum’s website, Vans’ web store and select physical locations on August 3. The Van Gogh Museum will dedicate a portion of the proceeds from this project to preserving Van Gogh’s legacy and collection of art, keeping it accessible for future generations.
